Dear one, thank you for bringing your whole heart, even the tattered unresolved ache of infinity. Thank you for allowing your little self to rest for a moment from playing large and for listening as if your life depended on it. It does, you know, depend on it. I like how you allowed yourself to feel into the crevices of everyone else's belonging.

How you could be more than a moment with them, even as they felt the impossible aloneness that spoke for them, the unbearable separateness. You showed up without your blazer and your kitten heels, your wild curls pressed into the straight and narrow refinement of hair salons and chemicals that allow you to fuss less over your body's natural expression.

You brought your body begrudgingly, if only to be able to dance beside your newest and always forever been family of fellow dreamers. You dared to dream. Thank you for not making round promises or angular commitments to do more, be more, show more than you can do. Now, your little engine that could being willing to sacrifice that need. You are enough.

All these mirrors showing you again and again the perfect reflection of who you are. A child of God, a warrior, a tiny being lost and alarmed. The ringer of awakening was here and you have answered it even as you rolled over in a fit of sleep at times to hit the snooze bar. You do not have to do anymore the things that are hard. The pushing, the producing, the standing on hilltops of "I want to be seen."

you have been seen little one heard the lyrical longing of others making you whole the rest in it all go now or stay but be your fierce and tender self bring your body with you the promise of reconciliation is right here even before the pen hits the page

I saw how you held her brokenness and felt the brave wholeness already there. How you allowed in this open temple to be returned to yourself. How you allowed others to heal you, opening enough to let the light in, allowing your own tiny self the relief of not being the only person you knew to shine through.

Thank you for being generous with your capacity to love others. These God with skin aching, loving, weeping, laughing children, your playmates, your return to the old neighborhood of safety of wild and free feral and alone. All of it. Don't enter the kingdom on a horse. Dear one, walk slowly and with bare feet outside the walls. Trust you're going loosely toward nowhere decided.

Be free.
